For those of you interested in technology, you may have heard of CES, “Consumer Electronics Show“, and wondered what it actually is?

• International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), is a trade-only show that isn’t open to general public
• It is usually held in early January in Las Vegas, Nevada
• It is sponsored by Consumer Electronics Association
• The point of the show is to show previews of new products that have been made, but it is also used to show a company’s latest development, such as the largest tv in the world of 2008, a 150 inch made by Panasonic

To get into more detailed history, there was a similar show before CES, called COMDEX (Computer Dealer’s Exhibition). However many companies have discontinued it as they’ve found CES to be more cost effective, and this is the reason why CES is still popular today.
